Wine Pour Policy
Enacted by el Supremo - March 12, 2008The following policy was enacted to help reduce wastage costs by having the wait staff only pour additional wine when explicitly asked and to comply with licensing regulations concerning SmartServe directives.
The B&R staff have been instructed to offer two glasses of wine, poured to a half glass level, to everyone attending a Whiff dinner - one before serving the appetizer and another one as the main course is being served. After that point in the dinner service, and until the speaker is introduced, a server will circulate among the tables, watching for wine requests, which should be indicated by raising one’s glass. The number of subsequent half-glass pours will not be limited, subject only to the requirement of the B&R’s SmartServe policy, which requires its trained staff to stop serving if a person is judged to have over-consumed. When serving subsequent pours, the B&R staff has been instructed to not automatically offer wine to others at the table and to pour only for people who request it. Please be mindful of, and inform your guests of, this policy and respect that the staff have been instructed, by your Junta, to serve according to this policy.
